Jaijit Bhattacharya

Mr. Jaijit Bhattacharya is an expert in technology driven governance & societal transformation. He is former Head, Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution in India, World Economic Forum. He is also the former Partner, Economics and Policy Practice, KPMG. Mr. Bhattacharya has 24 years of work experience in the area of technology, innovation, strategy and public policy and also Adjunct Professor at IIT Delhi. He is currently President of Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research and member of Governing Senate of IIIT Raipur. Mr. Bhattacharya has held numerous policy related roles such as Member of Expert Committee for Ease of Doing Business legislation of Government of India, co-chair of Expert Committee on Skill Development for Deity, Convener for Economic Standards for Smart Cities, BIS, and Vice President of Institute of Open Technologies and Applications. He has also conducted training for ADB institute in Tokyo on Public Expenditure Management and has helped World Bank develop curriculum for their e-Leadership program. He has earlier worked in senior roles in Accenture, IBM, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and HP and has been the Founding Partner of Catalyst Constellations LLP. He has been responsible for the creation of the next generation of solutions for governments, based on open standards. Mr. Bhattacharya completed his PhD from Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has numerous internationally reviewed research papers and patents to his credit, is the author of several books on technology and e-governance and has written numerous articles in leading newspapers and publications besides appearing frequently on leading electronic media channels.
